New Delhi, March 18 (IANS) With the Congress party's campaign based on the Oscar winning song 'Jai Ho' hitting the television, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hit back with satirical jingles composed in the 'Hathrasi' style of renowned Hindi poet Kaka and will follow it up with a video of 'Team Advani'.

The radio jingles based on the satirical style of Hathrasi in Hindi and English have hit the radio channels across the country. The poem hits out at the UPA rule for price rise and terrorism.

'Dharti par chalti motor, aakash pe petrol, chunav sir pe aa gaya, khul jayegi pol (Motor runs on earth and petrol price has sky rocketed, with elections round the corner, the truth will be out soon),' the jingle goes.

'This is our reply to 'Jai Ho',' a senior party functionary said.

Nisheeth Sharan of Utopia Consulting hired by the BJP for canvassing has written the jingles. The jingles have been aired after cutting the two lines ridiculing the former home minister Shivraj Patil, who was forced to resign after the Mumbai terror attack last year, on the suggestion of the election commission.

'Bam fatein, goli chale, atanki gadar machayen, grihmantri har ghante mein suit badal kar aayen (Bombs explode, bullets are fired, terrorists create mayhem and the home minister is changing suits every hour),' the cut line said.

The party sources say that the jingles have already ruffled a few feathers with the jingle CDs being seized in Kanpur, Lucknow and Varanasi.

'We have EC's approval to run the jingles in Hindi and English and for jingles in vernacular language we have already applied for one. Still the CDs have been seized in three places,' the functionary said.

The jingles will be followed by a three minute 15 seconds video film titled 'Team Advani' and starring all the big leaders of the party.

'The 'Team Advani', which will finally become 'Team India', has been shot across the country, including at Himalayas, Kanyakumari and Jaisalmer,' the leader said.

The film starts off as 'fauladi baju, atal irade aur dil mein desh gaan (Strong arms, unshakeable determination and love for the country in the heart)'.

'The ad campaign is more for the cable networks and rallies rather than for TV channels,' he added.
