Advani supports 'One Rank One Pension' demand
Leader of opposition and BJP's prime ministerial candidate L.K. Advani on Monday supported the demand of retired security personnel for ‘One Rank One Pension’ policy and promised to fulfill their demands if his alliance comes to power after the forthcoming parliamentary election.

“Many delegations of ex-servicemen have called on me in recent months and I am convinced of the justness of this demand. We are fully committed to implementing the ‘One Rank One Pension’ policy if we win the people’s mandate in the forthcoming parliamentary elections,” said Advani.
Supporting Sinha’s view to extend the long career of army personals of below the officer’s rank in the army, Advani said that he had lot of pain to saw that several ex-servicemen, who had served the nation with his blood and sweat and fought several battle to protect the citizens of the country, recently returned their medals those they had won as a reward.
Retired soldiers of varying ranks on March 14, 2009 had returned 7,500 medals in protest against the non-fulfillment of their demand of ‘One Rank One Pension’ policy.
‘My party has considered this matter in its totality and we are fully committed to fulfill the demands of ex-servicemen,’ said Advani.
The former defence personnels are demanding to eliminate anomalies in Sixth Pay Commission's recommendations, which has been approved and is ready to be implemented, citing that the soldiers should get same pension irrespective of the date on which he or she retires and it should increase continuously at the time of wage revision.
The government has rejected the demand of ex-servicemen on the basis of administrative and financial grounds.
