Formula One ace Hamilton says playing with danger gives him a thrill

London, July 19 (ANI): Formual One ace Lewis Hamilton has said that playing with danger and death does give a thrill, and he doesn't fear being killed on the track.

"Being killed is not something I ever think about. My parents know the dangers and that is why they get nervous, but for me the danger part is the most exciting.

My dad has known since before I even started racing that I am not scared of anything. No matter how much he pushed in his road car to frighten me, or how many rollercoaster rides I went on, or how many silly jumps I did, he always knew if someone dared me to do something I'd do it. I've always been someone who went further than the others," The Sun quoted 23-year-old Hamilton, as saying.

Hamilton also insists that his faith in God means that whatever happens on the track was meant to be.

"I am very close to my faith and am a true believer in fate. I am here for a reason. I think things happen for a reason, bad races happen for a reason, as do good ones. Whatever is going to happen will be for a reason. It is about how you ride through it," he said.

He admitted that he will not take any unnecessary risks in the remaining nine races as he defends his lead in the drivers championship.

The McLaren star has 48 points along with Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen after his triumph at Silverstone two weeks ago. (ANI)
