New Delhi, March 15 (IANS) Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) politburo member Sitaram Yechury and Janata Dal-United (JD-U) president Sharad Yadav met here Sunday, a meeting that was seen as politically significant ahead of the elections.
'Yechury reached Yadav's residence at around 1.30 p.m. and held discussions with him for an hour. It was a close-door meeting,' said a CPI-M source.
Yadav is also the convenor of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
But the source did not say what the two leaders discussed. Sources in the Left as well as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA were tight-lipped about the meeting.
