Meera Syal to play doctor in medical drama Holby City
London, march 13 (ANI): 'Kumars' star Meera Syal, 47, will soon be seen playing a doctor in a medical drama, Holby City.
According to reports, she is set to join the BBC1's prime-time medical drama in the summer.
Sources have revealed that the producers were "thrilled" at signing Meera, who will begin filming in May.
"She will play a doctor called Tara Sodi who is a bit of a prickly character. When she arrives at Holby General, it won't be long before she rubs a few of the other doctors up the wrong way," the Mirror quoted a source as saying.
"We hope she'll take over from Ade Edmondson and give us plenty of laughs," the source added.
Apart from being a successful actress, Meera is also a successful author and has written the book of hit musical Bombay Dreams. (ANI)
