TDP chief complains his phone was tapped on Congress orders
Hyderabad/ Chennai, Mar 13 (ANI): Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has complained about Congress party leaders ordering the tapping of his phone.
"We have complained to the Election Commission that the Inspector General of Intelligence is instrumental. He is also tapping our telephones on the basis of Congress Party's planning, their actions and strategies," Naidu said after meeting the three-member delegation of the Election Commission led by Chawla on Thursday.
Earlier, Election Commissioner Navin Chawla, who reviewed poll arrangements in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, said that there would be zero tolerance on violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
"The Model Code of Conduct is in operation. We have zero tolerance to any model code violation," Chawla said.
"I think we are going to aim for free, fair and transparent elections in the entire country," Chawla said who is slated to take over as the Chief Election Commissioner next month. (ANI)
