Chandigarh, March 11 (IANS) Holi was celebrated by people in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh Wednesday amid tight security measures in most areas.
The Chandigarh police and their traffic wing was out on the streets at vantage points in good numbers since morning.
The popular 'Geri route', a road going through Sectors 9, 10 and 11, was barricaded with tight security. However, unlike in previous years, the road was not completely sealed.
Entry to Panjab University campus in Sector 14 was also restricted to avoid any untoward incident.
Holi was celebrated in leading towns in Punjab and Haryana and other places.
