111 arrested for rowdiness at rock concert
Bogota, March 9 (EFE) As many as 111 people were arrested here by the Colombian police after they caused disturbances and tried to enter without tickets a concert by British heavy metal band Iron Maiden, authorities said.
According to the police report, '37 men and three women remain under arrest' and they will have to 'assume the costs of the stoplights and traffic signs that they damaged'.
The report said that about 25,000 people attended the Saturday evening concert in Simon Bolivar Park.
One policeman was injured in the disturbances, and Sunday he was recovering from reconstructive surgery, the police said.
The officer, identified as Rolado Arturo Girata Mora, serving with an Esmad anti-riot squad, 'was attacked by fanatics who caused facial trauma by giving him an open wound in the right cheek', a source said.
