Tsvangirai's wife to be buried Wednesday
Harare, March 9 (Xinhua) Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai's wife, who died in a car crash that injured her husband Friday, will be buried Wednesday, Tsvangirai's party said Saturday.
Susan Tsvangirai will be buried at her rural home in Buhera, a Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) official said, adding that the prime minister, who is in neighbouring Botswana for medical tests and rest, is expected to return to Harare Monday.
The crash occurred as Tsvangirai and his wife were travelling from Harare to Buhera where the new prime minister was due to attend a rally the next day.
Susan was reportedly flung out of the car as it rolled over and landed on top of her. Rescuers found her 15 metres from the wrecked vehicle, mortally wounded with serious internal injuries and fractures to both legs.
She was rushed to Beatrice hospital where she was declared brought dead. Her body is now at Nyaradzo funeral parlour in Harare.
Tsvangirai's driver Simbarashe Mujeyi and his aide Benson Muchineuta were also injured and treated at the Avenues Clinic in Harare.
Meanwhile, the MDC said it would carry out its own inquiry into the crash though party officials have not directly said that they suspected foul play.
