'Punj-a-aab' service should continue between India, Pak

Amritsar Mar 6 (ANI): Describing the militant attack on Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore as "unfortunate" and condemning the evil designs of terrorists, passengers of the Amritsar-Nankana bus service said the government should speed up the peace process between the two nations.

 

Though less in number, eight passengers, including one Pakistani, the passengers want the government not to discontinue public transportation between the two countries. elhi-Lahore, Amritsar-Nankana Sahib and Amritsar-Lahore buses and the Samjota Express have been disbanded often because of terror strikes in both India and Pakistan.

 

In the wake of the terror attack in Lahore, the Indian Government has advised its citizens to avoid going to Pakistan.

 

"By doing so, we would do what fanatics wanted us to do", said Mubashir Ahmed Mirza, a member of the Center for Youth Development and Activities (CYDA), Lahore, who was in India on a short visit.

 

Ahmed said Indian and Pakistani youths understand the situation, and are keen to bring development to the region.

 

Dr. Arun of New Delhi, who is visiting Lahore to attend a seminar, said by going to Pakistan he wanted to give a message to radical elements that people are not frightened by their evil designs.

 

Amrik Singh, a bus driver of the 'Punj-a-aab', said the service should be continued. By Ravinder Singh Robin (ANI)
