Manmohan Singh's first official meet with Benin President after surgery today
New Delhi, Mar 4 (ANI): Five weeks after undergoing bypass surgery, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will have his first official engagement today when he holds talks with President Boni Yayi of Benin at his residence.
According to official sources, Dr, Singh will hold delegation-level discussions with the leader of the West African nation and oversee signing of some agreements.
The talks will take place at the Prime Minister's residence and not at the usual venue of such events, the Hyderabad House.
Dr. Singh has been attending to urgent official work from home for a few days now but today's talks with the President of Benin will mark his first official engagement.
76-year-old Singh underwent a 'redo' coronary artery bypass surgery to remove five blockages in his heart at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on January 24 and has since been recuperating. (ANI)
