Tennant may reprise short-lived stage role of Shakespeare's Hamlet in film adaptation
London, March 3 (ANI): David Tennant is planning to reprise his short-lived stage performance of Shakespeare's Hamlet in a film based on the acclaimed play.
The Scottish actor had to quit his West End run midway after suffering a slipped disc in December last year, and subsequently undergoing surgery to correct the condition.
Even though he returned to London's Novello Theatre for one week of shows, most of his fans were left disappointed because they could not see him in the title role.
However, according to reports, Tennant is now set to reprise that part in a special film.
"We are intending to film it over two or three weeks in June. It won't be a full feature film as there isn't time but it will certainly be more than just the filming of the stage," the Daily Express quoted Hamlet co-star Oliver Ford Davies, who played the role of Polonius, as saying. (ANI)
