Temporary relief for Dutt with Interim bail
Aug 20: The apex court today granted the Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt interim bail but he will have to surrender when he get the copy of order of conviction. TADA court has yet to give detail of the copy of the judgement. He was convicted in 1993 serial blast case in Mumbai.
Reportedly a copy of the TADA court judgement might be handed over to Dutt by September. Five other convicts also got interim bail along with Dutt. However, as the TADA court is yet to announce the entire judgment, petitioners were seeking bail on the very same grounds absence of detailed judgement.
He is lodged at Yerwada Jail and the original copy of order should reach the Yerwada jail by 5pm to ensure Sanjay Dutt’s release today itself if not then it may be cancelled if judgement copy is made available in next 72-hrs.
He was sentenced 6 year rigorous punishment by TADA Court on July 31 st for illegally possessing arms.
Senior lawyer and Congress leader Kapil Sibbal has welcomed the interim bail and says, as he was not charged on TADA the bail was inevitable”.
This has come as a temporary respite for his family members who are trying hard to clear his name.

August 20, 2007 at 12:00 AMWell....
Its the fact we all should agree that a rich person in India will not face any charges...
But why this drama is goin on?
Every body knows that he vl be free one day...
haan,, many ppl think that he is a nice guy... This should be asked to the people who lost thier loved ones during 1993 blast.
The Law and order is getting horrible day by day...
& Who is responsible?

August 20, 2007 at 12:00 AMI donā??t know why Supreme Court takes Sanjay case as seriously if Sanjay accept his crime. Itā??s not a matter of mistakes which people does and accept. Every body does first crime as mistake or without the fair punishment. In Supreme Court there are many cases which are pending from last 7 to 10 year and accused on that case are still in jail. Govt need to resolve that cases on priority base. If Sanjay improve your character in jail term, than court need to think on his behavior.
