Kanti Singh visits National Archives of India

New Delhi, July 16 (ANI): Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Kanti Singh paid a visit to the National Archives of India today.

 

She was received by Lov Verma, Joint Secretary (Culture) and Director General of Archives. She then held a meeting with senior officers of the Department who apprised her with the various activities and ongoing programmes of the National Archives like digitisation, microfilming, publications, preservation of records and the future plans of the department.

 

The Minister was also escorted round the various divisions and appreciated the efforts of the department in preserving the valuable heritage of the country.

 

She evinced keen interest in the scientific administration of the record holdings of the department and took great pleasure in going through some interesting documents in the private archives section.

 

The Minister was also presented with some publications of the department which included commemorations on Shaheed Bhagat Singh and INA as well a CD on record management prepared by the National Archives. (ANI)
