PCB's 1 million rupee bounty for 'triple centurion' Younis Khan

Karachi, Thu, 26 Feb 2009 ANI

Karachi, Feb.26 (ANI): Recognising captain Younis Khan's match saving triple century, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a reward of one million rupees for him.

Khan batted for more than two days for his 313 runs in the first Test against Sri Lanka in Karachi, before he was finally bowled by fast bowler Dilhara Fernando.

After reaching the feat, on the fourth day of the match, Khan said that he wanted to break Brian Lara's record of 400 not out, but missed out on the opportunity.

He is the third Pakistani cricket player after Hanif Muhammad (337 against West Indies at Barbados in 1958), and Inzamam-ul-Haq (329 against New Zealand at Lahore in 2002) to hit a triple century. (ANI)
