Jairam Ramesh resigns as Union Minister to focus on Congress poll campaign
New Delhi, Feb.25 (ANI): Congress party seems to be coming in its top gear as the General Elections could be announced any day, it looked evident on Wednesday when Union Minister Jairam Ramesh resigned from his post to devote full time to his party's campaign.
On Wednesday, the Union Minister for Commerce and Power, Jairam Ramesh, sent in his papers to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The papers were further sent to the President Pratibha Patil who duly accepted the minister's resignation.
Jairam Ramesh, who has been a member of the election strategy team of Congress party in 2004, said he has put in his papers to focus on election campaigning.
Jairam Ramesh's action came a day before the concluding session of the Lok Sabha amid expectations in political circles that dates for parliamentary elections would be announced in a week.
He represents Andhra Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha, on the advice of the Prime Minister.
