Rahul Gandhi woos youth in Gujarat
Anand (Gujarat), Feb 24 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi met aspiring youth leaders during his day-long visit to Ahmedabad in Gujarat on Monday.
Rahul is touring the state to mobilize people and accelerate a membership campaign for the party's youth wing.
"We are trying to provide a route for political empowerment of youngsters. But that's not a right that is up to you. If you can manage to do that if you are capable enough then that door is open. Every single member will be able to give his voice in choosing who will be the leader," he said.
He strongly advocated the participation of women in politics.
"I should say that this room (auditorium) should has 50 per cent women, if everything has been working fine. The fact is that only 10 of them are here and their voices are not being heard in this system. I need to develop leadership from every part of the society," he said.
Rahul is on a tour to the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party's stronghold to galvanise the party ahead of elections. (ANI)
