Washington, February 21 (ANI): George Clooney has won himself an appointment with US President Barack Obama to find a solution to the crisis-hit Darfur region of Sudan.
The Hollywood heartthrob, who was named a "Messenger of Peace" by the United Nations last year, will try to work a plan with the president to help put an end to a long and gory battle, which is believed to have consumed millions of innocent refugees.
"We want him (Obama) to appoint a high-level, full-time diplomat to negotiate and work hard every day for a peace treaty," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
The 47-year-old, who is presently on the road of the neighbouring African nation of Chad, further revealed not much had changed since his first visit to the region in 2006.
He said: "I was here three years ago and in some ways there's not a whole lot of difference. It's sort of status quo. The problem is that the status quo is unacceptable." (ANI)
