Maoists intensify preparations for by-election in Nepal

Kathmandu, Feb 19 (ANI): The Unified CPN (Maoist) today intensified its preparations for a by-election, which is scheduled to hold on April 10.

 

During the secretariat meeting of the Maoists held this morning at party Headquarters in Buddhanagar, they handed over the responsibility to elect the party's candidates for the by-election to the in-charge of the state affairs committee.

 

Maoist spokesperson Dinanath Sharma said that the party directed the in-charge to submit the name list by electing the candidates within two days.

 

"The discussion on the name list following the election of the candidates will be done at the next secretariat meeting to be held on Saturday," he added.

 

The Maoists is conducting consciousness programme as the Election Commission is scheduled to have electric voting for the by-election.

 

The meeting also decided not to change the name of its youth wing Young Communist League (YCL) for a time being as differences rose in changing its name, Kantipur reported. (ANI)
