Dhikuli range (Uttarakhand), Feb 12 (ANI): Forest rangers in Uttarakhand captured a suspected man-eater tiger, which had strayed from Jim Corbett National Park and killed a woman.
"The tiger is about 9-10 years old. It's a grown up male tiger. It's been verified that it's the same tiger that was declared man-eater recently. The tiger would be released in Nainital zoo," said V. K Singhal, Director, Corbett Tiger Reserve.
Singhal informed that tiger was declared man-eater as it had killed a woman as well as horse recently. The officer added that it was operating in fringe area and was not scared of human beings.
The tiger had also attacked a motorcycle-borne youth.
As for the animal-man conflict, officials say that wild cats often stray into villages near forestlands in search of food and even attack people. (ANI)
