Whoopi Goldberg returns to Broadway with 'Xanadu'
New York, July 15 (ANI): Whoopi Goldberg has revealed that she will be returning to Broadway after signing on to star in 'Xanadu'.
Goldberg made the announcement at an all girl gabfest of "The View".
The play commences on the 29th of July and goes on till the 7th of September.
Whoopi plays two small roles in the play one of Caliope, the trouble-making sister of the muse Kira and another of Aphrodite, the Goddess of love and beauty.
"I always want to be on a stage somewhere but I wanted something fun," New York Daily quoted Goldberg, as saying.
Goldberg, who hosted the Tony Awards last month, will be coming up with her new album, which will be promoted by Jackie Hoffman.
"Xanadu" has run just over a year and is a loopy spoof of the 1980s movie dud about a muse and Venice Street artist who opens a roller disco.
Goldberg also played a part in Nathan Lane's "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," she is also producing the revival of "For Coloured Girls...".
Goldberg pointed out that she like to keep herself busy.
"If I have a vacation it's dangerous," she said. (ANI)
