New York, Feb 11 (ANI): Breasts have helped make a huge profit for Sports Illustrated, as was found from the sale of the magazine's swimsuit issue.
As per the Alley Insider, the swimsuit issue makes up 11 percent of Sports Illustrated's annual revenue, making the magazine five times more profitable than the sports issues.
This year's issue has actor Leonardo DiCaprio's girlfriend Bar Refaeli, 23, on its cover.
"The cover has to reflect the athleticism and sexiness of the culture. This photo is modern, her hair and swimsuit look natural. You see her freckles. Her body is amazing and she looks intelligent," the New York Daily News quoted Terry McDonell, group editor at Sports Illustrated, as saying.
The models in the magazine were picked from over 90,000 photos by the Sports Illustrated team, and it's not usually the raciest photo that gets picked.
"There are marketplace considerations," McDonell explained.
"I want to be at the front of the store, not the back," he added. (ANI)
