New Delhi/ Patna/ Gorakhpur, Feb. 8 (ANI): As the nation prayed for the health and well being of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP leader Kalyan Singh visited AIIMS on Sunday to enquire after him.
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt also paid his visit to AIIMS to enquire after Vajpayee's health.
Vajpayee, who was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after complaining of severe chest pain last Tuesday, is currently in the ICU. His condition is stated to be stable.
A medical bulletin released on Sunday morning said, "He is on a mechanical ventilator. His condition is stable. His vital parameters are normal and he is responding to treatment."
The bulletin was issued by AIIMS Medical Superintendent, Dr. D K Sharma.
Hindu seers prayed for Vajpayee's well being in Patna.
"When doctors give up, then they resort to prayers, and that is what we are doing for Vajpayee," said Amitabh Trivedi, a seer.
BJP activists made offerings and prayed for the health of the revered leader at the famous Ankleshwar Temple dedicated to Hindu God Lord Shiv in Gorakhpur on Saturday.
"All the BJP activists have gathered here to pray for the health of Vajpayee. All of us prayed that he gets well soon and so that he can resume his functions and duties in the party and serve the nation as well," said Brijendra Singh, a local BJP leader.
A team of specialists attending on Vajpayee at the AIIMS put him on mechanical ventilator after his condition deteriorated on Friday evening. (ANI)
