Army replaced medical benefit scheme by Contributory Health Scheme

New Delhi, July 14 (ANI): The Army has closed down the Medical Benefit Scheme (MBS) of Army Group Insurance for ex-servicemen with effect from April 1, 2006.

 

The step has been taken consequent to the introduction of the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) from April 1, 2003.All members of the Army Group Insurance (AGI) MBS (Whether they have joined ECHS or not) who have not collected their refund of AGI MBS subscription from the Army Group Insurance Fund (AGIF) so far, have been advised to apply on plain paper to the AGIF along with documents of Membership of ECHS - Yes/No (This information is for data collection only); original MBS card issued by AGIF along with supplementary card if issued; details of bank account number and address of bank and present address and contact number of the member.
