Three Manipur Valley militants surrender to the army in Imphal
Imphal, July 14 (ANI): In a major success, the Army along with the Police in Manipur has been able to convince three Valley based militants of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Military Council) group to surrender with weapons here today.
Major General T.S. Handa, the General Officer Commanding 57 Mountain Division accepted the surrender at Leimakhong, Imphal in the presence of Inspector General of Police (Law and Order), Karnajit Singh and other senior army and police officers today.

Amongst those who surrendered at Leimakhong are two town commanders Keisham Gauramani Singh and Ayekpam Abung Singh and one self styled corporal Keisham Raju Singh of the KCP (MC) group.
The group has surrendered with two 9mm pistols and nine rounds.
The surrender of Valley based groups with whom no Suspension of Operations agreements exist is a major blow to the morale of the militants.
In Manipur very few such surrenders have taken place in the past. (ANI)
