India exposes Pak, blames ISI for Mumbai attacks

India has blamed ISI for being involved in Kabul bombings and Mumbai attacks and said that Pakistan’s continuous flip-flops, diversionary tactics and callous approach are in itself a proof that Pakistan does not want to explore the truth. Further its intentions becomes evident how sincere it is to defeat terrorism when it made no attempt to curb the activities of banned terrorist groups when its representatives openly participated in a public meeting in Pak occupied Kashmir on Wednesday.

Foreign ministry spokesperson Vishnu Prakash said on Thursday the banned terrorist outfits continued to thrive in PoK. “We have seen reports that representatives of the terrorist groups Jaish-e-Mohammad, Harkat-ul Mujahideen and Jamaat-ud-Dawa participated in a public meeting at Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. No effort was made by the authorities to curb the activities of these groups,” he said.

“We strongly condemn the licence that banned terrorist organisations continued to enjoy in territory under Pakistan’s control,” he stressed and appealed to the people not to travel or be in Pakistan as it would be precarious for them.

New Delhi’s critical comment came amid media reports that Pakistan was contemplating to scapegoat Bangladesh-based radical Islamist outfits and other Islamic groups active in the region for the Mumbai carnage.

Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon, addressing an international conference at the Institute Francais des Relations Internationals in Paris on Wednesday, sought to expose Pakistan by asserting that the bombings on the Indian mission in Kabul and the Mumbai strikes were organised and launched from Pakistan and insisted the organisers were “clients and creations” of the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).

“In each case, the perpetrators planned, trained and launched their strikes from Pakistan and the organisers were clients and creations of the ISI,” he asserted, adding that India suffers most the consequences of linkages and relationships among terrorist organisations, their support structures, official sponsors and funding mechanisms, which transcends national borders but operate within them.

“Any compromise with such forces, howsoever pragmatic or opportune it might appear momentarily, only encourages them," Menon said and appealed to the international community to abstain from supplying arms to Pakistan as it was nothing to do with anti-terror operations, and underlined that any such aid was like “giving whiskey to an alcoholic”.

Meanwhile, both External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, setting aside confusions, have reiterated that Pakistan has not yet given any response to the dossier on Mumbai attacks, even after a couple of months have been passed.
