NAACP Image Awards to honor Muhammad Ali
Washington, Feb 5 (ANI): Boxing legend Muhammad Ali will be honoured with the NAACP's President's Award, to be presented at the organisation's 40th Image Awards on February 12.
Following the honour, Ali will join the league of human rights leader Jesse Jackson and former U.S. president Bill Clinton, reports Contactmusic.
NAACP CEO Benjamin Jealous reveals the former fighter was chosen "not only for his success inside the boxing ring but for his role as an outspoken, charming and witty leader, activist, humanitarian and artist."
Halle Berry and screenwriter-actor Tyler Perry are set to host the 40th annual awards show, which will air on Fox TV.
The ceremony falls on the 100th anniversary of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and kicks off the group's yearlong centennial celebration. (ANI)
