Vajpayee's condition is stable
Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s condition is stable in intensive care unit (ICU) and he has spent a restful night, said an official of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi.
Vajpayee (85) was admitted in the VIP ICU department of AIIMS on the complaint of fever and chest congestion on Tuesday night at 10 pm.
He has no fever, his chest congestion is also less and he is breathing normally, informed AIIMS Medical Superintendent D K Sharma to the reporters by adding that his routine test results are normal, but few more tests still needed.
A multi-disciplinary team of doctors, including cardiologists Dr. Sampat Kumar and Dr. V K Behl, neurologist Dr. N B Padma in the supervision of senior physician and head of department of medicine Dr. Randeep Guleria, are continuously monitoring the condition of Vajpayee, said BJP President Rajnath Singh, who visited AIIMS on Tuesday night.
His condition is stable and health is improving, however, doctors have said to keep him under medical supervision for two-three more days, added Singh.
