Hameed Ansari takes the post of Vice President.

Aug 11: Hameed Ansari won the Vice-Presidential election as expected with a huge margin. The victory was certain with all the numerical strength required.

This is special amidst the Sacher report which claim of minorities being not represented at all levels of post serving to the nation.

Hameed Ansari a former diplomat made it big by winning 30 more vote than expected. He got 455 votes in his favor asserting himself for the post. Najma Heptulla and Rashid Mashood got 222 and 75 vote respectively even less than the estimated vote.

India will toast the moment when our First woman President Pratibha Patil will make an oath to the Vice President Hameed Ansari, an oath to faithfully discharge the duty entitled to him.

Vice President is the ex-officio chairman of Council of State, and has dual performance attached to this post. As a Vice President he is executive but as a chairman of Rajya Sabha he is the Member of Parliament.

With the qualification of distinguished personality, Hameed Ansari who served as an ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iran, UAE and as a High commissioner to Australia, he will represent country good will and friendship mission to other country. With his understanding of international politics and learned personality he is going to be a responsible guardian of the house.

As he take post of vice president to discharge the duty with sincerity and commitment, his calmness and serenity adds to the gravity to his personality.

When he enters the august office may he lend sheen to the house and add glory to the nation.
