Padma Vibhushan for Ashok Ganguly
New Delhi, Jan 26 (IANS) Noted industry expert and former chairman of Hindustan Lever Ashok S. Ganguly was named one of the recipients of this year's Padma Vibhushan awards.
Ganguly, a member of the Prime Minister's Council on Trade and Industry, served as Hindustan Lever's (now Hindustan Unilever) chairman during 1980-90. During his over 35 years' professional career, he had also been member of several government committees.
Anil Manibhai Naik, chairman and managing director of infrastructure major Larsen and Toubro (L&T), was selected for Padma Bhushan award, an official statement said Sunday.
Naik became the chief executive of L&T in 1999 and assumed the chairmanship in 2003.
R.K. Krishna Kumar, Tata Sons executive director, Bavaguthu Raghuram Shetty, an NRI who runs a healthcare business in the United Arab Emirates, and Arunmugam Sakthivel of Tamil Nadu were selected for Padma Sri awards from the trade and industry discipline.
