Bhopal, Jan 25 (IANS) Van Vihar National Park in the Madhya Pradesh capital may soon get a pair of white tigers from the Nandankanan Zoo in Orissa after an approval from the Central Zoo Authority (CZA), state forest minister said.

But the national park will have to part with tigress Sara and a pair of jackals under an exchange programme with the Nandankanan Zoo.

'The tiger Bhagat and tigress Lalita would be brought to Bhopal's Van Vihar park as soon as the CZA approves of the exchange,' said Forest Minister Rajendra Shukla.

Forest officials finalised the exchange programme during their recent visit to the Nandankanan. Van Vihar is without a white tiger or tigress after the last white cat, Rini, a female, died of cancer a few months ago.
