Met department forecasts warm and sunny Republic Day
New Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS) It will be a warm and sunny Republic Day in the national capital Monday, the met department has forecast with the weather remaining warm and temperatures well above normal over the past few days.
Sunday morning saw the minimum temperature in the capital rise to 12 degrees Celsius, a good four degrees above normal. The maximum temperature will hover around 24 degrees Celsius, which is again above normal.
The general visibility at around 9 a.m. was 100 meters and strong cold winds prevailed.
A met official ruled out any possibility of rain, but said: 'There is likelihood of partly cloudy skies.'
S.C. Bhan, director of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), told IANS: 'There may be some fog Monday morning? but we are expecting a warm and sunny Republic Day.'
