No priority to Sanjayâ??s bail petition
Aug 10: Sanjay Dutt who requested the constitution bench to hear his case early on Friday, could not get it and court did not list his matter for regular hearing on Friday.

On Thursday, Senior Counsel of Sanjay Dutt had made a special mention of his bail plea before Supreme Court so that his case be heard urgently on Friday.
Due the oppose by many other convicts of early hearing of Sanjay’s bail plea the supreme court said that it will be heard with other accuses only and clarified that his plea will not get priority over other similar petitions.
Chief Justice clarified that the petition would be included in Friday’s mentioning list as the court procedure goes, urgent relief cases should come at least on the mentioning list to be heard by the court.
Dutt’s counsel told that Supreme Court issued the directions to include the petition for regular hearing on Friday still it is not being listed for hearing on Friday. But Chief Justice said that court had listed the matter to be mentioned so that it could be formally mentioned on Friday and allotted a date for hearing the bail plea.
Cases in the mentioning list are not heard in detail and allotted an early date for hearing.
This is to known that Sanjay Dutt has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the Mumbai special TADA court sentence.
Bail plea of Dutt has not been listed for hearing on Friday as the counsel of Aziz Sheikh contested that his client was the first one to file a petition against the TADA decision while precedence is being given to Sanjay Dutt. He termed it as discrimination.
Otherwise on Wednesday Supreme Court gave its consent for urgent hearing of his petition but was reverted due to voices against it.
