Ranchi, Jan 23 (IANS) Indian Railways Friday paid tributes to freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose by renaming a railway station in Jharkhand after him.

Railways Minister Lalu Prasad announced the new name of the Gomo railway station that comes under the Dhanbad railway division.

The railway station will be now known as the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose railway station, Lalu Prasad said.

Bose had stayed for some time in Gomo when his Indian National Army was fighting British rule in the country.

'In the coming months, Jharkhand will get many gifts from the Indian Railways,' Lalu Prasad said.
