Met department forecasts warm and sunny Republic Day
New Delhi, Jan 23 (IANS) Except for the biting wind reminding us that winter is not yet over, Delhi has been witnessing warm sunny days with temperatures well above normal. And the mercury will continue to rise over the next three days giving us a warm Republic Day, the met department forecasts.
Friday morning saw the minimum temperature in the capital rise to 12 degrees Celsius, a good four degrees above normal. The maximum, the met department says, will hover around 23 degrees Celsius which is again above normal.
'Over the next three-four days the temperatures will rise more and the cold wind that you are witnessing now will subside,' S.C. Bhan, director of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), told IANS.
'Therefore we are expecting quite a warm and sunny Republic Day.'
