Delhi serial blasts accused sent to judicial custody
New Delhi, Jan 21, (ANI): A Delhi court on Wednesday sent the five accused to judicial custody till February 4, in last year's Delhi blasts case.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja took cognizance of the chargesheet filed against them in the September 13 serial blasts in the capital and posted the matter for February 4.
The Court has also directed the police to supply copies of chargesheets to all the accused in connection with karol Bagh, Greater kailash-1 and Barakhabha Road bomb blasts.
The court also issued production warrants on January 29, against the alleged co-founder of Indian Mujahideen Mohd Sadiq Sheikh and member Quamuddin Kapadia who are in Ahmedabad.
All the five suspects Mohd Saif, Zeeshan Ahmed, Zia-ur-Rehman, Saquib Nissar and Mohd Shakeel were sent to Gujarat on October 27 as part of ascertaining their probable role in Ahmedabad serial blasts on July 26, 2008.
Mohd Saif, one of the accused, was also sent to Rajasthan for his alleged role in the Jaipur serial blasts.
Saif was arrested from the Batla House at Jamia Nagar in South Delhi on September 19, while Zia, Shakeel and Saquib were detained a day later from Shaheen Bagh. (ANI)
