NSG to enhance training methods to develop shock factor, says J.K.Dutt
New Delhi, Jan.18 (ANI): The country's elite commando force the National Security Guards (NSG) is going to enhance and update its training to develop a surprise factor for terrorists and maintain an edge on them in any eventuality.
The NSG Director-General J. K. Dutt revealed it, while predicting greater testing times for the security forces of the country, during his address to his men in the new year on Sunday.

"The NSG will continue in its endeavour to meet the raised benchmarks and develop innovative methods to cope with the future security concerns of our country. Instead of being surprised, we must have ways to surprise the foe," Dutt said.
"We have to now further update and modernise our training modules with the times to enable the NSG Black Cat commandos to execute their assigned tasks with utmost confidence and strength, " Dutt added.
Dutt described the Mumbai terror siege as a "soul-stirring happening" that "will reverberate in the corridors of time".
The NSG DG, who himself led "Operation Black Tornado" in Mumbai said that the time has come when the country needed the services of a highly trained force like NSG.
"The vastness of the country, prevailing security scenario, economic development, rise in air traffic have generated an increasing requirement for speedy response from the NSG in their duties as well as in reaching a trouble spot," Dutt said.
Dutt termed the operation undertaken for three days on November 26 as having been executed with "professionalism and surgical precision".
"Within 24 hours of their arrival, the NSG commandos shot dead two of the terrorists at Hotel Oberoi-Trident and secured the premises ... November 26, had dawned like any other morning, but no one could have imagined that the events of the day would spill over to the next few days and cause an upheaval within the country and worldwide," Dutt recalled.
Dutt also stated that time had come for the NSG to spread its wings elsewhere in the country with creation of new hubs and that the demand for sky marshals was on the rise due to increase in the number of international and domestic flights movement in the country.
The three-day seize by terrorists from Pakistan was handled successfully by the National Security Guards, Marine Commandos (Marcos) and the Maharashtra Police personnel. (ANI)
