New Delhi, Jan 17 (IANS) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Saturday continued to cross-examine Kapil Dev, former captain and chairman of the rebel Indian Cricket League, who has sought court's intervention in restoring the official BCCI pension for him and others who had joined the ICL.
At the Delhi High Court registrar's office, BCCI continued to put questions before the former Indian captain pertaining to his career both as player and as coach of the Indian team.
The cross-examination continued for around four hours during which Kapil replied to questions related to the BCCI rules and regulations, whether he had played charity matches and what amount he received in those matches.
The board reminded him that he had coached the national team in 1999-2000 and the team had lost the series.
It also reminded him that when he resigned as a coach there were allegations that he was involved in match-fixing.
The court will continue hearing the case Feb 4.
Kapil, who fell out of favour with the BCCI after he backed the ICL, has argued that a player should not be denied pension for services rendered just because he sides with what the board has termed a 'rebel' venture.
