The 42-year-old worker, Sitaram Muralidhar, was pronounced dead at the Salmaniya Medical Complex where he was rushed immediately after the incident late Jan 11 afternoon, local media reported Saturday.
This was the first incident of a worker's death recorded in Bahrain this year.
Muralidhar, who hailed from the western Indian state of Rajasthan, leaves behind his wife and two daughters.
He had been working as a carpenter for Ahmed Al Qaed Building and Contracting Company for five years.
According to the Gulf Daily News newspaper, four Indian workers have been taken into custody and an investigation launched into the incident.
The report quoted Bahrain's labour ministry occupational and safety head Ali Abdulla Makki as saying that the company had violated the law by not providing its workers with proper safety gear.
