Srinagar, Jan 17 (ANI): After an interruption of almost a day due to heavy snowfall, the Jammu- Srinagar Highway has been opened traffic.
The 300 km Jammu- Srinagar highway which is the only surface link between the valley and the rest of the country, got blocked due to heavy snow.
Over 1200 vehicles were stuck on the highway due to heavy snowfall at Jawahir Tunnel and Patnitop and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) was trying to clear the snow off the highway.
The snow is successfully cleared for travel. However, snowfall in the upper reaches is still continuing.
According to sources, tourists seemed quite elated to watch the spectacular snowfall. (ANI)
