New Delhi, Jan 16 (IANS) On the occasion of the swearing-in ceremony of Barack Obama as the 44th US President in Washington Jan 20, TV viewers in India can trace the life of the charismatic leader through an hour-long show - 'Biography: Barack Obama Special'.

The show, to be aired on educational channel FOX History and Entertainment Jan 20 at 9 p.m., has been produced by Australia-based company, World Wide Entertainment.

It will showcase Obama's formative years when he faced hardships while growing up, how he went on to graduate from Columbia University and Harvard Law School, his tryst with politics and his journey to becoming the president-elect of the US.

The hour-long documentary took nearly three months to make, said Jonathan Hutchings, CEO of World Wide Entertainment.

'This documentary has been shown across many countries, including in Europe and Africa, but it has not been aired in India yet. For the edition to be shown on the inauguration ceremony day, we have made a few additions of the presidency elections and also his acceptance speech,' Hutchings told IANS by phone from Australia.

'I think people need to understand Barack Obama's life,' he added.

Marilyn Higgins, the creative director of the company, said: 'We chose to create a special feature on Barack Obama at a time when public interest was growing about Obama, his personal journey, and his political motivations and career.

'His story, and the events leading up to and surrounding his election are compelling and a source of fascination to a global audience.'

Hutchings says that the show is a 'factual account' of Obama's life. 'Our researchers have travelled the world trying to uncover his story. This show is an unbiased, non-judgemental account of whatever Obama has done in his life,' he said.

The special show is a voiceover-based show supported by archived footage of Obama sourced through various agencies.
