Viswanathan Anand sees Bright future for Indian chess
Kolkata, Jan.15 (ANI): Grand Master Viswanathan Anand has said that the future of the game of chess is bright in India with several promising young players performing well at the junior level.
He spoke highly of the young chess players in India.
"Lot of promising young people are there. We have Surya from Kolkotta. Then there is Shashi who is already in top 20 and he is India's great vehicle. In girls we have Hampi, Tania Sachdev and Parimarjan Negi," Anand said while talking to reporters here.
nand recently won the World title after drawing the eleventh game against the Russian challenger Vladimir Kramnik,in the World Chesshampionship final at Bonn, Germany.
He became India's first Grand Master of at the age of 16, and won the orld junior title in 1989. (ANI)
