London, Jan 15 (ANI): Autographs of celebrities like Sir Paul McCartney and Princess Diana are safer assets than stocks or savings.
Ten years ago, the former Beatle's signature was worth 125 pounds but now fetches more than 1,500 pounds.
According to the GB Rarities Index, others soaring in value include Princess Diana's (up more than 600 per cent from 1,200 pounds to 8,500 pounds) and George Harrison's (175 pounds to 2,250 pounds),
GB Rarities Index also shows that stamp collections rose in value by nearly 40 per cent in 2007-2008.
"People see autographs as something tangible," the Sun quoted Stamp specialist Stanley Gibbons, behind the index, as saying. (ANI)
