Food Street in Chandigarh comes alive at night
Chandigarh, Jan 15 (ANI): Large number of residents and visitors are thronging the night street in Chandigarh to relish the delectable street food sold at the numerous outlets.
Few food outlets open in Chandigarh at night. The new food plaza, which opened about a month back, has given wider options for the city's university students, youngsters and the residents.
This newly opened food plaza is called 'Night Food Street'. The street boasts of eight outlets that sell different cuisines from North Indian food and South Indian to Chinese, Continental, Italian and Oriental that can tickle one's palette.
A delight for the food lovers, this plaza is open throughout the night till early in the morning.
"This concept launched by the Chandigarh Government is really good and the planning is also good. For the paying guests, youngsters as well as the University students also, who study till late night, we provide facilities," said Roshan Lal Verma, owner, Tandoori Nights, Night Food Street.
According to the outlet owners, the response from the people is excellent. This concept is picking up at a fast pace in Chandigarh.
One can choose from an array of cuisines. Tandoori food that includes Tandoori Chicken and Kababs are available, and so is the evergreen South Indian food like Dosas and Idlis.
"Especially for the students and youngsters, it is really a beneficial street. Like when we used to go to the discotheques, there was no place where we could go. The high-fi restaurants where the food is quite expensive and it becomes very difficult for the students to afford. So it is really a boon for the students as well as the youngsters," said Suruchi, a food buff.
