PM, Prachanda discuss govt formation, statute amendment
Kathmandu, July 10 (ANI): Nepal's Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-M) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday discussed the amendment to the interim constitution and formation of a new government.
During the 30 minute meeting at the Prime Minister's official residence at Baluwatar, the Maoist Chairman asked the PM, who is also President of the Nepali Congress, to participate in the coming Maoist-led government, Kantipur sources said.

Dahal and Maoist second-in-command Dr. Baburam Bhattarai's call comes at a time when the Nepali Congress is saying that it will stay out of the government as the opposition party.
It is understood that the Maoist leaders want to form the next coalition government under their leadership as the largest party in the Constituent Assembly (CA).
Sources added that the leaders also discussed the appointment of the President and Vice-President.
The meeting of the largest and the second largest parties in the CA also discussed the amendment to the interim constitution. (ANI)
