Lucknow, Jan 13 (ANI): Police used water cannons on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists during a march towards the State Assembly. They were protesting against the policies of the State Government on Monday. .
Senior leaders Kalraj Mishra and Lalji Tandon were among those who courted arrest during the "Save Uttar Pradesh" march.
"We urge the people of the state that the state is being ruined and save it. We are holding this protest as Save Uttar Pradesh. So far 125,000 activists have courted arrest," said Tandon.
The BJP State leadership also called for a state-wide march against the alleged miss-governance and anti-people policies of the Bahujan Samaj Party Government.
Similar marches were witnessed in several parts of the state including Agra.
Political heat is rising in the country's most populous state ahead of the general elections slated for this year. (ANI)
