Kolkata, Jan 12 (IANS) Two top Sri Lankan cricketers will be seen in action for Mohun Bagan club in local cricket for the ongoing season.
Mohun Bagan Monday registered pacer Chaminda Vaas and middle order bat Tilakratne Dilshan for the entire season.
Vaas will be arriving Tuesday and is likely to play his maiden match for the city club in the J.C. Mukherjee Trophy Wednesday.
Tilakratne Dilshan's anointment for Bagan, however, has to wait. Dilshan is set to tour Pakistan with the national team shortly.
But a top Bagan official said Dilshan would come whenever he gets some respite from international cricket.
'we did not do well in the last couple of seasons. So, we are determined to do well this season. And I hope their arrival will add colour to local cricket,' said Bagan assistant general secretary Srinjoy Bose.
Bose skipped a query on the contract amount, saying 'The money is negotiable'.
Vaas has bagged 354 wickets besides scoring 3073 runs in 109 Tests. He has also totalled 2025 runs and 400 wickets from 322 ODIs. Dilshan has 2899 runs from 50 Test matches and 2994 runs from 152 ODIs.
