Kullu valley gears up to snow sports
Solang, Jan 12 (ANI): Adventure lovers from across the country and abroad made a beeline for a thrilling experience in Kullu in Himachal Pradesh.
Every year thousands visit Solang Nala near Manali to enjoy the adventure sport.
The region, which is slowly emerging as a paragliding destination, has turned into a haven for tourists enjoying motor biking and skiing.
"We are enjoying various sports here. Motor biking, skiing and para-gliding was awesome," said Lowe, a tourist.
The tourists said that the weather was pleasant which added to the fun.
They also have the opportunity of learning different aerobatics from veteran hobbyists and para-gliders in the natural splendour of the Himalayas.
"I am feeling nice here. The weather is very nice. There is snow everywhere and I am enjoying a lot," said Makheja, another tourist.
The residents are laughing their way to the bank as tourists make a bee-line to the place.
"The six to seven inch snow that has covered the region is attracting a lot of tourists who are coming here to take part in adventure sports like para gliding, snow motors, mountain bikes, skiing, horse riding and other such activities," said Tej singh, a resident.
Every year more than nine million tourists visit Himachal Pradesh, out of which, around seven million tourists visit Kullu-Manali.
Adventure sport lovers make it a point to visit Solang Nala of Manali and it provides employment to hundreds of local youth. y Prem Thakur (ANI)
