Prince Harry turns builder as he helps build Lesotho school

Tue, 01 Jan 2008 ANI

London, July 9 (ANI): British royal Prince Harry rolled up his sleeves and got down to the serious business of helping build a new school for orphans in Lesotho.

The royal is helping build the school through the Sentebale charity he set up in 2004 in memory of his mum Diana.

The charity aims at easing suffering in the Aids-ravaged African kingdom.

As he did his share of hammering and pushing wheelbarrows of concrete, Harry revealed why he didn't opt to just send the money across instead.

"There is no point in becoming a patron or setting up a charity just to sit back and let someone else do the work," The Sun quoted him, as saying.

"That's the thing about the Army. I love physical labour, I love hard work and getting my hands dirty. It's fantastic to be here with 26 guys from the regiment and for the chance to get things done."

He also made a direct appeal to readers of The Sun saying: "The plight of the orphan children of Lesotho cannot be overstated. I know Sun readers can make a huge difference to their lives and that the people of this country blighted by Aids will be so grateful for any assistance they can possibly give." (ANI)
