August 02: Yesterday afternoon CBI marched to Mukherji Nagar near north campus of Delhi University to raid the house of a contractor to search for documents in connection with a DDA scam.

The raid became significant in view of the fact that when CBI reached the premises of Ashok Malhotra, the contractor they found around 40 luxury cars, all with VIP numbers.

Malhotra runs a canteen in Delhi Assembly and some years ago only came to Delhi and settled in Mukherji Nagar. Since then his assets is on rise day by day.

Anti-corruption wing of CBI has claimed to seize the documents of hundreds plots from his residence and also took notice of highly luxurious cars with such VIP numbers available at premium prices.

Agency got some information that Malhotra has mediated in the allotment of the DDA plots as he is supposed to have high profile contacts in political galleries of Delhi. The agency started its operation when his name came to the surface in the slum scam.

The names of other persons involved in the case have not been revealed by the agency. On the seizure of assets in large amount in form of fleet of cars the case is not expected to be limited to just the plot scam but can turn into disproportionate asset case.

Though no political party has accepted any familiarity with him. Reporters could not know much about the contractor as no neighbour came out and exposed themselves to the media. But some accepted that even they wonder how fast and quick he prospered.

All channels and newspapers gathered before the house as everybody suspected several other political names can come out. None of the family member was available at home.

Due to high media coverage of the raid the roads were blocked people gathered around from near places to witness the incident. During the whole phenomenon what attracted people and media was the huge fleet of cars out side the house raising the question in mind where have these come from.

1. Nobody can become so much rich like Mr.Malhotra through hardwork. Of course there should be many many black hands behind his richness. CBI/Govt./Media should jointly work and find out the truth and show the correct picture to the public. All the best, Savitri
